WHAT IS PrEP?

Pre – exposure prophylaxis or PrEP is a highly effective tablet used to reduce the risk of catching HIV.

WHO CAN TAKE IT?

People who are at high risk of HIV, for example, men who have sex with men who do not use condoms,  or men/women who are having condomless sex with somebody who has untreated HIV.

HOW DO I TAKE IT?

There are 2 ways of taking PrEP:-

DAILY DOSING where you take 1 pill a day;

or

EVENT BASED where you take treatment just before and for 2 days after having sex.

DOES IT PREVENT OTHER STIs?

No, it only helps to prevent HIV.
