Psychosexual Help

A lot of people experience sexual difficulty at some point in their lives.

Some people will get better by themselves without help but others require more assistance. For some people, sexual problems may be related to physical or medical conditions. For others, they may be related to psychological, social or emotional circumstances. We are here to help couples and individuals to address problems with sexual functioning as well as concerns about sexuality, sexual orientation and lifestyle.

Referrals to the Psychosexual Service

Psychosexual Service is a confidential specialist service. Referrals are accepted from a variety of services including GPs, Nurses, Contraceptive Services, GUM Services, Mental Health Services and Social Care to name a few.

If you feel unable to approach a professional and discuss being referred into the service please contact us directly on 01253 957171 and we will try out best to assist.

The Psychosexual team consists of a clinical lead, two therapists and a dedicated service administrator. Both therapists have completed a postgraduate course in the assessment and treatment of sex and relationship problems.  This is recognised by the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists (COSRT). We therefore abide by the COSRT code of ethics. If you would like further information about COSRT, please click the link www.cosrt.org.uk
